THE RESULTS OF THE 10TH ROUND - BIG EXCITEMENT!

The 10th round has ended. It brought very exciting results. Wu won his game against Karlsson and got a clear lead by 1 point ahead of Yamaguchi who lost his game to Taimla. Chingin was not able to get more than a draw from Iio and therefore his gap between Wu increased to 1 point. Sushkov won his game against Oll and has a fair chance to get the World Champion title because he will meet Wu in the last round.

The 9th round was very long and full of tough fights. Although the first moves in the leaders' games let us assume that the competitors will win those games, the leaders managed to turn the games to their favor at the end.

THE 8TH ROUND RESULTS - YAMAGUCHI AND WU ARE LEADING

First of all it should be mentioned that the pairs of 8th and 10th rounds were swapped because referees discovered that the 10th round pairing contained the game Purk vs Oll. By the principle of AT games, the players from same country should not meet in last three rounds, therefore the swap of rounds was made by referees.

In the central fight of the round, Yamaguchi won his game against Sushkov and gained leadership with pleasant Berger coefficient. Wu Di shares the first place, having also 6 points from 8 games.

The 7th rounds brought the situation that never happened in the history of World Championships before - 4 players are having 5 points from 7 games and one player is just half a point behind them! For sure we can say this is the most even WC ever!
